A Plainview man is dead after yet another motorcycle accident in Lubbock. It happened at FM 2641 and North University, just before noon Tuesday.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Corporal John Gonzalez says Mickle Gilbreath, 63, suffered severe burns and injuries when his motorcycle rear ended a pickup stopped at that intersection.
"The impact is indicated to the severity of the pick-up as well as the motorcycle," said Gonzalez. "It's a pretty hard hit because the motorcycle caught on fire. Again, rupturing the tank and igniting the motorcycle and again, igniting the driver himself.
EMS took Gilbreath to University Medical Center's burn unit. He died a few hours later.
