Power Outage Effects Felt Across City

Around 3 a.m., a fire caused $18,000 in damage at a house in the 5400 block of 31st St. Marlon Hamilton with the Lubbock Fire Marshall's office says that a candle left unattended started the fire.

Hamilton says the residents lit it when the power went out earlier on Monday night. Fortunately, the house did have smoke detectors and everyone got out safely.
