New Emergency Room to be Built in Southwest Lubbock

Posted:

If you have an emergency in Southwest Lubbock, you are about to be very close to an emergency room physician. That's because Covenant Health Systems announced Thursday it is building a 15,000 square foot emergency center at 98th Street and Slide Road.

Covenant President and C.O.O Brett Esrock says, "We'll be staffing this emergency department with board certified emergency department medicine physicians, registered nurses, the same nurses we have at the 19th Street location so it is going to be an emergency department just like you would experience at the Medical Center campus."

The facility will bring up to 100 new employees into the Covenant family. The new emergency center should be complete by the end of 2009. Esrock says it will not only make it faster for you to get emergency help in Southwest Lubbock. But it will alleviate the wait for others who continue to go to the emergency room on 19th Street.
