Vince Carter vs. Yao Ming

Toronto Raptors star Vince Carter faced off against Chinese center Yao Ming on Wednesday, and he predicted that the Houston Rockets' top draft choice will succeed in the pros. Carter is visiting Beijing and played a two-on-two half-court exhibition against Yao. Both had a small child as a teammate.

China's official Xinhua News Agency quotes Carter as saying the 7' 4" center will succeed in the NBA because he's "high and he has skills." He says his first thought upon seeing Yao was: "He's tall. I'm going to dunk over him." But he says his later thought was: "Now, I don't want to."

Yao hasn't reported yet to the Rockets, pending final permission from his Chinese club, the Shanghai Sharks, and the Chinese Basketball Administration.
