Man Shot During Carjacking

A man is recovering after being shot during a carjacking in north Lubbock. Police say the victim was sitting in his car in the 4600 block of Kemper Street, near Centennial Elementary School, around 12:50 a.m. Friday. That is when a man armed with a shotgun approached the car and demanded money.

The victim tried to get away, but the gunman shot him through the car window. The suspect then drove off in the victim's car, which is described as a burnt orange, 1980 Pontiac Bonneville with chrome wheels. The victim was taken to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.
