With the classic music playing, the new square in Slaton was packed with car enthusiasts and those who just wanted to remember simpler times at Slaton's 13th Annual Car Show.
"It's always a great event but this year we've got over 190 cars here," said Slaton Mayor Laura Lynn Wilson.
This year's weather couldn't have been better, a far improvement over last year.
"Last year we had a threat of rain so our cars were a little bit down last year but today it's beautiful weather. No rain and no wind," Wilson said.
And that brought out as many as 500 people to see the hard work and time it takes to take a seemingly hopeless car and turn it into a work of art.
"It's a wonderful event for our community. It gives us a chance to come together and enjoy or new city hall and new grounds here on the square," added Wilson.
