Two people are hospitalized on Wednesday night following a head on collision in east Lubbock County. The crash happened just before 7:00 p.m. on FM 40. DPS Troopers at the scene say that the driver of a green Ford Escort, Nancy Vasquez of Lubbock, apparently hadn't noticed a car stopped in the road and swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid the vehicle. She then collided head on with a Cadillac.
The driver of that vehicle, 17 year-old Fancy Richardson, also of Lubbock, was taken to Covenant Medical Center. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Vasquez is in critical condition at University Medical Center.
