Troubled Alonzo Spellman in Hospital After Alleged Rampage
The former defensive lineman has been taken to a mental health ward in New Jersey. Spellman is charged with breaking into his brother's Mount Holly house and threatening to kill him as he smashed windows and pictures late Tuesday. His brother wasn't home. Three people who were in the house weren't hurt.
Spellman was released last October by the Detroit Lions. In the last two weeks, Spellman was arrested in Dearborn, Michigan, and charged with drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, and destroying property. Days later, Philadelphia Police said he had an argument aboard a Detroit to Philadelphia flight. He hasn't been charged in that incident.
