Texans Running Back Hoping for Second Chance

The Houston Texans are just beginning. James Allen is starting over. It's been two years since Allen became the fifth running back in Chicago Bears history to surpass 1,100 yards in a season. Allen is eager to prove, with Houston, that he can be that caliber runner once again.

Allen is only in his fifth season out of Oklahoma. The Texans are hoping he can lead their blue-collar running backs corps. As the team went through its fourth day of workouts on Thursday, running backs coach Chick Harris is still looking for signs of what kind of offense the players will allow to evolve.
