Southwest Little LeagueHere we go again!! Last year the Western All-Stars made it to the Little League World Series. Now we have another group of 11 and 12 years olds moving closer to that lofty goal!!
In Waco, the Southwest All-Stars won the Texas West State Championship beating McAllister Park of San Antonio 6-5. SW is now a stunning 10-0 in elimination games. Having lost last Friday to McAllister Park 11-0, SW battled back to reach the title game, needing to beat McAllister twice to advance. As they did in the area, district and sectional rounds, Southwest came through as Traven Benton hit 2 homers. SW beat McAllister on Monday 8-4 and came back to win 6-5 Tuesday to advance to the Regional tourney.
Southwest now has a 1 in 8 shot at making the Little League World Series as the Regional champ goes to Williamsport. The regional tourney starts in Waco on August 1st.
