Fire Starts Up At Shallowater House, Again

Firefighters were called back out to a house fire near Shallowater Saturday. The fire started up again early Saturday morning. This is the fourth time the flames have reignited since Friday. The house fire started just after 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Rescue teams were called from Abernathy, New Deal, Shallowater, and West Carlisle.

No one was injured and fire officials say the house is a total loss. The family was able to save some personal belongings. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say gunpowder near the house caused fire to spread quickly.
