There's a killer on the loose, but don't worry it's a good thing.Researchers at MD Anderson Cancer Center have found a way to expand Natural Killer, or "nk", cells from umbilical cord blood.
The killers can to target and wipe out cancer cells, while leaving normal cells alone.Using a novel process, researchers generated more than 150 million active NK cells from a single unit of cord blood.
In animal studies, the NK cells reduced Leukemia cells by up to 85%.
