Salmonella Update

An update this Friday on the national salmonella outbreak and the latest suspected culprit - jalapeno peppers.

Hot peppers grown in the United States are no longer suspected in making people sick. Friday, the government narrowed its warning saying only Mexican grown jalapenos are now linked to the nationwide outbreak.

FDA officials still haven't counted out tomatoes as an initial suspect of the illness, but they do say tomatoes currently on the market are safe to eat.

So far the salmonella outbreak has sickened about 1,300 people in the U.S.
