Jury Selection Begins for a Lubbock Double Murder Case

Lubbock County summoned 150 potential jurors for the capital murder trial of Vaughn Ross. Attorneys began questioning the jurors Monday about how they feel about the death penalty. Attorneys say it could take up to six weeks before a jury is selected.

Ross is accused of shooting both Douglas Birdsall, Library Dean for Texas Tech and Viola Ross-McVade to death on January 30th, 2001, in Lubbock. If Ross gets the death penalty, this will be the fifth person Lubbock county prosecutors have sent to death row.

Testimony in the case is set to begin August 9th.
