On Tuesday, a Lubbock County Grand Jury indicted 29-year-old Jeremy Perez on a count of manslaughter.
Investigators say he got into a fight with his cousin, 42-year-old Juan Perez back on March 3rd. Authorities were called to Covenant Medical Center when Juan arrived unconscious and bleeding from the head. He died later that day.
Just last month, the medical examiner said Juan died from blunt force trauma to the head, and investigators ruled his death a homicide. Investigators say Jeremy punched Juan twice, causing him to fall to the ground. They say Jeremy then kicked Juan in the back of the head. The medical examiner says Juan's cerebellum exploded.
Authorities say both men had been drinking, and used marijuana and cocaine before the fight.
