The Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services is now posting childcare compliance histories online. At the site, you can find out how well childcare centers have been run in the past. Holly Campidilli with the department says that checking the records are only one step in finding the right childcare center.
"It's very important that parents go and actually visit the facilities. The web site is a tool to help parents locate facilities, but the most important step is the parents actually doing the looking and the exploring and the interviewing themselves," she says.
