The shooting of a Lubbock teen is now being investigated as a homicide. Officials with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office now say Ryan Ledbetter, 17, died just before midnight, of a gun shot wound to the head.
The incident happened in northwest Lubbock county on Monday, at a mobile home in the 100 block of Venita. It was originally reported as a home invasion, but was later declared an accidental shooting.
Officials say it was a sixteen year-old boy who accidentally shot Ledbetter. They believe the weapon was among ten guns stolen in a burglary Monday morning, and that both the victim and the shooter were involved.
The alleged shooter is now being held at a juvenile detention facility.
