Raycom Media Stations Partner To Catch Thomas Crumpler

Posted:

One of NewsChannel 11's Most Wanted should find it harder to hide, now that we've taken the search national.  Thomas Crumpler has been on the run for more than seven years.  He's the first person we put on NewsChannel 11 Most Wanted wall, and we knew catching him wouldn't be easy.

Investigators received information he could be hiding in Ohio or down the east coast.  So, we partnered with our Raycom Media sister stations in those areas to show viewers his picture and help bring Crumpler to justice.

"A man wanted in Texas may be hiding out in our area; take a good look at Thomas Crumpler," WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia reported.

"Take a good look; this is Thomas Crumpler.  If you see this man please call police," WBTV-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina reported.

"A high school band director accused of sex crimes, he was employed by two high schools in the Lubbock, Texas area," WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina reported.

"We are partnering with 10 of our sister stations to track him down.  Crumpler has been on the run since 2001," WTOL-TV in Toledo, Ohio reported.

"Investigators say the former high school band director became friends with at least three male students, gave them alcohol, then watch pornographic videos and performed lewd acts in front of them," WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina reported.

We know the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office is following up on a new lead in the Austin area, but they still need more information to track Crumpler down.  If you know anything that can help investigators track him down, call the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office at (806) 775-1400.
