Public schools across the state are improving when it comes to test scores. Only 622 of the state's nearly 7,000 public school campuses failed to get the top three marks in the ratings. That is eleven fewer than last year. Students have consistently scored better and steadily improved since the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills tests (TAAS) became a priority ten years ago.
Schools receiving an exemplary rating in the Lubbock ISD include Bowie, Guadaulupe, Hardwick, Honey, Murfee, Smith, Waters, Whiteside, and Williams elementaries. Irons and Mackenzie Junior High both received exemplary ratings as well.
Three schools in LISD turned in a low performing rating. They include Alderson Academy, Bozeman Primary Academy, and Parkway Primary Academy. To see the ratings for all schools in the area and state, ( click here).
