The papers of a woman pleading for her husband's release from a Vietnam Prisoner of War Camp will now be open to the public at the Texas Tech Vietnam Archive. Congressman Sam Johnson of Plano was a POW for seven years in Vietnam. During that time his wife Shirley pushed the U.S. Government to get her husband released.
Friday, Shirley presented Texas Tech with all the documents she collected over the course of that seven years. Congressman Johnson also donated a videotaped history about his experience as a pilot and POW.
