Grand Jury Indicts Suspected Rapist, Pedophile, & Arsonists

Posted:

Tuesday, a Lubbock County Grand Jury decided there is enough evidence to send 35-year-old Francisco Rodriguez Junior to trial.

Rodriguez remained in the Lubbock County Jail Tuesday evening.  He's charged with aggravated sexual assault.  Investigators say he walked into a home in the 2900 Block of Baylor the afternoon of July 17th. Rodriguez allegedly turned up a radio to block out the screams as he raped the 12-year-old girl who was home alone at the time. Authorities say he told the girl not to tell anyone and that he would be back the next day. Police arrested Rodriguez soon after he left at a nearby home.

A new charge came against a former Lubbock paramedic accused in a global, child pornography ring. Daniel Castleman, 43, is committed to the Northern District of Florida, Pensacola Division.  Federal investigators say Castleman was involved in a sophisticated, Internet, child pornography ring.  Then, in May a victim filed a charge with Lubbock Police saying Castleman sexually assaulted her.  NewsChannel 11 has learned the victim was 13-years-old during the alleged assault.  Tuesday, the grand jury indicted Castleman on the additional charge.

Jury members also indicted two men, accused of setting fire to a Lubbock motel. Ryan Boyd, 20, and Mikey Sanchez, 18, stand indicted for arson.  The men allegedly set fire to a room at the former Ramada Inn back in March, causing significant damage.

The grand jury indicted three other men for arson, in a May fire that forced a woman to escape her home. Investigators say 20-year-old Michael Boggio, 18-year-old Nathan Montanez, and 18-year-old Joshua Ramos set fire to a vehicle on May 16th. The flames spread to the house causing major damage.
