Lubbock Man Found Guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child

A 27-year-old Lubbock man faces up to life in prison, after being found guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child Thursday afternoon.

Jury members will continue deciding the punishment for Bobby Tobias Friday. Authorities arrested him last November. Prosecutors said that Tobias used a young girl as a sex tool.

Jury members convicted Tobias on two counts of abuse on the little girl. The incidents started when the girl was seven and continued through age eight.

Defense attorneys argued that Tobias is a good man from a good family, and that probation would be a suitable punishment. The prosecution said probation should be out of the question. The punishment phase will continue on Friday.
