This weekend you'll save the $.08 sales tax on every dollar you spend, as long as the item is less than $100.
People can enjoy the savings on adult and children clothing and shoes. There will be no taxes for every item less than one hundred dollars. Clothes, shoes, hats, backpacks, and even diapers are just some of the items that will be tax free.
"Things like tennis shoes will all be tax free and one sale that we are running is all of our men's and women's shoes will be at least ten dollars up and all of our youth shoes will be at least five dollars off, that way if they are over $100, with the $10 off they will be under $100 and then they will be tax free," said Bradley Whitworth, Cardinal's Sports Center Manager.
Store managers that we talked to today, say they are planning ahead for heavy traffic and sadly for all you store employees you probably already know this, but nobody gets the weekend off.
"Tax free weekend is usually the busiest weekend of the year, Christmas season of course is the best weekend for us, but this coming weekend is really the best coming weekend for our stores," said Beth Bridges with South Plains Mall.
Tax free shopping is also available online. Most nationwide merchants are preprogrammed to knock off the sales tax, as long as the shipping address is in Texas.
