Traffic is now slowing down at one of Lubbock's most dangerous intersections. On Monday, the Texas Department of Transportation completed a new traffic signal at the intersection of north Frankford Avenue and Erskine St. The lights began flashing red in all directions at noon Monday, indicating a four way stop. It will become fully functional by about 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. Drivers on Erskine are advised to be sure traffic on north Frankford is stopping before proceeding on green at this new location.
Another traffic signal change is in downtown Lubbock. Power service at this location: Main St. and Texas, failed Sunday night, and the City of Lubbock's traffic engineering will need to replace the existing underground line. Temporary stop signs are currently in place until repairs can be made.
