Asthma Different for Boys & Girls

Boys are more likely to have childhood asthma than girls are, but they are also more likely to grow out of it.  Researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School followed 1000 kids with asthma- testing their airway responsiveness each year for nine years.

They found almost no change in girls over the years but boys seemed to improve as they got older with the differences beginning to appear during early puberty. Researchers say their findings suggest biological differences in how men and women cope with asthma.
