Follow Up to Sex Offender Compliance Check

A follow up to a story NewsChannel 11 first brought you on our 10 p.m. webcast Thursday night. 

Out of the 20 registered sex offenders Lubbock County investigators checked on Thursday, four were not at home. NewsChannel 11 was the only station to ride with deputies as they knocked on doors across Lubbock County.

Three times, investigators attempted to make contact with Jerry Hershel Riley. But each time no answer. Crime Analyst Mandy Myers tell us Riley contacted the Lubbock Sheriff's Office Friday morning, to tell them that he does live at the address where he is registered. 

Deputies are expected to make follow up sex offender compliance checks Friday night.

Authorities Check On Lubbock County Sex Offenders
Late Thursday night, Lubbock County Sheriff deputies finished going door to door of registered sex offenders. It was to ensure they are living where they claim to be registered.
