Monday's health headlines begin in Dallas where researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center are planting the seeds for a new way to spot breast tumors.
They're using a technique where a small radioactive seed, about the size of a grain of rice, is implanted into a suspicious area in the breast. Then, using a wand, the surgeons use radioactivity to pinpoint the exact location of the mass or lesion and find the beat way to remove it.
The scientists say the new technique is less invasive and more accurate than current procedures.
