Black may the new green when it comes to healthy foods.
Natural pigments called antho-cyanins give many black foods their color. Researchers at the University of Florida say antho-cyanins are powerful antioxidants that offer anti-inflammatory properties and could protect against heart disease and cancer.
So, what are some good black foods to eat? They say black beans contain more antioxidants than any other beans, black rice has more fiber and nutrients than white rice and blackberries have higher antioxidants than any other fruit.
