He has allergies, needs reading glasses, and has mild high-frequency hearing loss, other than that doctors say George W. Bush is in superb health. The president is on vacation at his Texas ranch. The 56 year-old president arrived in Crawford late Tuesday afternoon. He is not due back in Washington until Labor Day. However, his aides insist this will be a working vacation pointing to a busy schedule of travel and other events.

In Kaufman, a man working on sewer lines died after the ground caved in on top of him. Crews worked quickly to shore up the sides of the trench and dig their way in to reach the trapped worker, but it was too late. Another worker escaped the collapse unharmed. Kaufman is about 30 miles southeast of Dallas.

The U.T. Medical Branch in Galveston is recalling body parts. It is part of the Willed Body Program. Officials say the body parts have not been properly tested for infectious diseases like Hepatitis or HIV. The parts were sent out to about 60 facilities in the U.S. from November 2000 to this May. A spokesperson there says none were sent out for transplants.
