Casas For CASA Wraps Up, Raises $25,000

The biggest fundraiser for CASA of The South Plains officially wrapped up Saturday. The winners of the "Casas for CASA" were announced Saturday afternoon at South Plains Mall.

Last year, Court Appointed Special Advocates helped 919 children get through the foster care system. But there were still 453 they were unable to help because of limited resources and volunteers. And that's why "Casas for CASA" is so important.

"In the past we've been out here all month and this year we've only been out here a little over two weeks. So we've sold more tickets everyday this year, but I'm not sure we had quite as good a turn out because of the shorter length of time," said Rose Carkeet.

This year's "Casas for CASA" raised about $25,000 in just two weeks.
