Lamesa Police Investigating Death of Baby Girl as a Homicide - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Authorities in Lamesa are looking into a suspicious death of a baby. 

On Friday morning, a 6-month-old baby girl was taken to the Lamesa hospital for emergency treatment. She was then airlifted to Covenant here in Lubbock, where she was pronounced dead later that night.

Around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, Lamesa Police received a call claiming the infant was the victim of possible child abuse. An autopsy was preformed in Lubbock on Monday, and preliminary results show the baby died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck. 

Lamesa Police continue to investigate this as a homicide, and they say they do have a person of interest.
