Jessie's #2 at 6606 West 19th Street had six critical violations

• The inspection states - "the facility has a severe fly problem due to the back door being propped open." It also notes that the restaurant must bring in a pest control service.
• Several items in a cooling unit were above the safe temperature of 41 degrees, and according to the inspection - the temperature inside the unit was almost 50 degrees.
• Employee's personal food and drinks were next to or on top of food contact surfaces.
• An employee did not properly wash their hands.
• A sanitizing solution was at a toxic level.
• and finally, several kitchen utensils were dirty.

The report shows most of the violations were corrected during the inspection.

The only other low performer this week also had six critical violations. Long John's Silvers at 5402 4th Street is a repeat low performer.

• A cooling unit was not keeping food at 41 degrees or below.
• Cole slaw did not have an expiration date.
• An employee's uncovered drink was next to food.
• The inside of a microwave was dirty.
• There was no food thermometer.
• and there was no soap in the lady's restroom.

The report shows all but one of the critical violations were corrected while the inspector was there. We tried to contact both restaurants for a comment on their health report - our calls were not answered.
