Lubbock County Republicans Support McCain's Running Mate Choice

Unknown to many before Friday, Alaska's governor makes headlines across the country.

In a surprise move, presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain picked 44-year- old Sarah Paylin as a running mate. It is a choice that has the support of many republicans across Lubbock County.

"The foundation of the Republican Party, the right wing Christian conservatives are thrilled with the choice John McCain has presented and now going into the convention on Monday we're going to have a good week," Chris Winn, Lubbock County Republican Party Chairman said.

Winn adds the choice brings needed energy to the party. The Republican National Convention begins Monday, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. NewsChannel 11 was unable to reach the Lubbock County Democratic Party for comment.
