Lubbock ISD students in the class of 2008 scored higher on the SAT than state and national averages.
LISD students scored 20 points higher than the state average in critical reading. LISD math scores were three points higher than the national average and 13 points higher than the state average. LISD students also scored 19 points higher than the state average for writing.
The SAT is often used by colleges and universities as a benchmark for admissions. More than 1.5 million students took the test nationwide.
