Shoes For Needy Lubbock Kids - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

 Around 600 needy kids in Lubbock have new shoes.  Wednesday evening the South Plains Food Bank and the Lubbock Association of Realtors gave out free shoes at the Payless shoe store in Northwest Lubbock.

The event is called Walk With Pride.  The Lubbock Realtors collected shoes from generous Lubbockites.

Then local schools told the food bank which families need them.  One local mom says, "I think it's great because I have eight children." Her daughter interrupts saying, "And we get free shoes!"  And mom responds, "Every little bit helps."

Of course the main activity of the food bank is to collect food for the needy.   The next major event is a food drive during the Panhandle South Plains Fair.
