Polgar Lawsuit Dropped - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The lawsuit against a world famous Texas Tech professor has been dismissed.

New York resident Samuel Sloan sued Susan Polgar. Polgar is both a world champion chess grandmaster and the namesake of the Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence at Texas Tech.

Sloan accused Polgar and her husband of defaming him on internet discussion boards.  The judge ruled last week that even if Polgar did what Sloan claims it's not a violation of federal communications law.  The New York Times quotes Sloan as saying he will appeal.
