It was a quick turnaround for the Texas Tech University Hurricane Research Team. Less than twenty-four hours after returning to Lubbock, the team headed out again first thing Friday morning. The team is driving east, ready to intercept Hurricane Ike.
As of Friday afternoon, the category three storm continues to head toward the Bahamas and Florida, with winds up to 115 miles per hour.
South Florida is being advised to watch what's being described as a "potentially dangerous hurricane."
