Child Locked Inside Hot Car

Lubbock police smashed the window out of a car Friday evening to rescue a child.

Police have not yet released all the details, but here's what we can tell you. Officers responded to the K-Mart parking lot at about 6 p.m. Friday. Eyewitnesses tell us there were two kids locked in a hot car. But police could only confirm one.

That child was treated by EMS at the scene and police do not think the injuries are life threatening.

Officers confirm that Children's Protective Services also responded.  Police took two adult women into custody.  Their names and possible charges have not been released.
