Lubbock Gets Beer For My Horses - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Lubbockites got a special treat Friday night at Movies 16.  We were told that the General Manager fought and begged and pleaded to get Lubbock on the list of cities which could show Toby Keith's new movie "Beer For My Horses." Well, her hard work paid off.

General Manager Laura Hamlett says Lubbock is one of only 11 cities in the nation to get this film so far.  She says it's an independent film and so there are only a few copies.  Hamlett says, "I really felt it was a film that would do well in this area. But the film company was not so sure. So, I had to let them know that Lubbock Texas is on the map."

Two Lubbockites are in the film: Barry Corbin and Mac Davis.

We caught up with a couple movie-goers after Friday's showing.  They both had rave reviews  One said, "It was very entertaining, very good!" Another said, "It was a great movie and everybody should come out & see it."

You can see "Beer For My Horses" at least until next Thursday here in Lubbock at Movies 16.  If it does well it will be carried over for a second week.
