Lubbock County Commissioners Approve Tax Rate Increase

On Monday morning, the Lubbock County Commissioners approved a near 8 percent tax hike.

The vote came after two public hearings in which critics said the increase is considerably more than needed.

Commissioners disagreed, saying the funds are needed to support the new jail.
