Wang's Future With Chinese Team Uncertain

Dallas Mavericks free agent Wang Zhizhi twice defied orders to return to China after his NBA season was over. Now, Wang isn't sure he'll be allowed to play for his country in the World Championships this month.

Wang had planned to join his national team in Canada for an exhibition game on Friday. But he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he hasn't heard from Chinese Basketball Association officials.

Missing Friday's game or another exhibition against the U.S. team wouldn't keep Wang from playing in the World Championships later this month in Indianapolis. But he told the Fort Worth newspaper that he might not know until three days before the championships if he'll be on the team.
