Lubbock Viewer Question Featured on New Medical Program

The Doctors is a new, one hour show on NewsChannel 11 weekday afternoons. It's the brain storm of Dr. Phil to provide viewers with a panel of on-call professionals on television.

If you tuned in Wednesday, you might have been surprised to see a question from Lubbock, Texas. Katrina from Lubbock asked, "My 7 year old hates wearing glasses and has been begging me to get contacts. Is he too young?"

This was the answer, "They did a big study a couple of years ago and found that down to about 8, you're okay. So that's just a year away. But young kids need to wear daily disposable contacts because the important thing with contacts is washing them and if you don't do it right, you risk an eye infection. I have contacts and I know younger kids just won't do it," said pediatrician Jim Sears M.d.

Viewers are encouraged to send questions to the team of doctors from 4 specialties - emergency medicine, ob-gyn, plastic surgery and pediatrics.

You can send your medical questions to The Doctors, click here.

Then you can watch "The Doctors" every afternoon at 1:30 p.m. after Days of Our Lives on NewsChannel 11.
