Red Raider Reaction to Aggie Apology

On Thursday, Texas Tech University President Dr. David J. Schmidly received a letter of apology from Texas A&M President Robert M. Gates regarding the accidental inclusion of critical remarks about Texas Tech and Lubbock in an Aggie football media guide.

"We are pleased to have received this notice that the Texas A&M football media guides will be reprinted. We accept President Gates' gracious apology, and we look forward to continuing our healthy rivalry with a renewed spirit of good sportsmanship," said Schmidly. "Texas Tech University and Texas A&M University will continue our tradition of competition on the playing field and cooperation on the important matters of education and economic growth in our state."
