Two Patients Now Home After Surgery Complications

Two of the three weight loss surgery patients who were hospitalized because of complications at Highland Medical Center are now at home. Doctor's released the second patient late Wednesday or early Thursday the first patient was released on Tuesday. Now, only one patient is recovering at University Medical Center. Meanwhile, three more patients have added their names to the lawsuit against Highland Medical and Dr. Ramesh Srungaram who performed the stomach stapling procedures. The lawsuit alleges medical negligence, after some patients developed a leak in their stomach.
