City Still On Standby For Hurricane Evacuees

Posted:

Ironically, as part of Lubbock had more than seven inches of rain Thursday, the city is still on standby to accept the victims of flooding as Hurricane Ike approaches the Texas coast.

The city did not receive any hurricane victims Thursday but as evacuation plans get larger the Governor might in fact call upon Lubbock for help.  The state told city officials that they were off the hook, so-to-speak on Wednesday

But just as a precaution, all the cots and emergency supplies remain in place.  So, if the state officials change their mind, then Lubbock is still ready.
