Overnight Shooting in Overton Kills Lubbock Man

Ishmael Saul Hernandez was shot once in the head early Friday morning. EMS took Hernandez to UMC where he spent most of the morning on life support. He died at 12:40 two that afternoon.

Hernandez was shot at the garden apartments in the 1300 block of 65th Drive.

There is a memorial fund set up for 15-year-old Ishmael Saul Hernandez. You can make a donation in his name at any one of three locations at Lubbock National Bank:

Your donations will help Hernandez' family pay for funeral expenses.

Lubbock Police Spokesman Bill Morgan says the officers took several people in for questioning. However he says police are looking for one main suspect. He is described as a black man about 20-years-old. Morgan says the suspect was wearing only saggy boxers and had braided hair.
