There is a surprising new development in the fight against lung disease that can be found in the grocery store! 

Scientists at John Hopkins Medical School say they may have the secret to lessening the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD. Researchers found a compound in broccoli and wasabi that is able to alter the levels of antioxidants that are deficient in the lungs of COPD patients.  

Researchers say the compound could help improve lung function in these patients and restore damage done by smoking.
