One of Minnesota's most wanted criminals was caught Friday night right here in Lubbock. 37 year-old Robert Salinas was convicted of murdering a police officer in Minnesota. After serving jail time, he was out on parole, but police say Salinas failed to keep in contact with Minnesota authorities.
The Texas Rangers said Salinas was staying with a relative in Lubbock for about one week, and Friday night, two undercover officers from DPS and the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office along with other law enforcement arrested Salinas at a home in the 400 block of 68th Street.
Salinas is in the Lubbock County Jail, it is unclear when he will go back to Minnesota to face his parole violation.
