Suspect Arrested For Friday Morning Shooting

Saturday, Police arrested a suspect for the murder of Ishmael Saul Hernandez. 20 year old Eric Willis is being held at the Lubbock County Jail on a murder charge. A judge recommended a 200-thousand dollar bond. Police arrested Willis at one o'clock Saturday morning at a room at the Villa Inn. Willis is accused of shooting Ishmael Saul Hernandez at the Garden Apartments in the 13-hundred block of 65th drive on Friday morning.

Hernandez was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died. Police say since Wednesday, they've responded to several disturbances near the Garden Apartments. People who live there say fights are common and they are often the result of late night parties.

A memorial fund has been set up for Ishmael's family to help with funeral expenses. You can make a donation in his name at any Lubbock National Bank location.
