Ransom Canyon Residents Breathe Sigh of Relief

Ransom Canyon officials now believe that the dam is safe, at least for now. Not only was it pounded by last week's record rainfall, but it was also hit by large debris and dead trees.

"It affected our residents, and we've got to find a way our residents can be safe and get back and forth," said Robert Englund. "Because we don't have another road in or out, except across this spillway."

For a couple days after the big flood, the roadway over the dam was closed, stranding more than 100 residents on the other side. It has since been reopened.
